I
have lots of hobbies and interests that keep me busy and occupied.
| I
love to play the piano and am now working towards my grade two examinations.
I like to play and perform for audiences at every opportunity I get.
This year I have performed at two music festivals and won medals.
My papa tells me it is a great self discipline and encourages me to
play every morning for at least half an hour per day before I go to
school. |

I
take 4 Judo classes per week and took my first grading last December,
I won my contests and got my yellow belt with 3 red tabs. My Papa
helps to teach at the club I attend, and has been a Dan grade black
belt for more than 30 years so I have a great personal coach! I
have competed in team contest in 2007 I will participating in many
individual contest matches.

| As
my mum is Filipino, my brother and I are member of a Philippine dance
troop. The national dance of the Philippines is called ‘Tinikling’
and looks really dangerous and impressive. Two long bamboo rods are
clapped together in time with the music and the dancers have to dance
in between them without getting their feet caught. There are also
many other unusual Philippine dances. At the moment my mum is learning
a new dance where she balances a lit candle on her head while dancing.
Most weekends the troop meet and we practice for a couple of hours,
and we always have a great time. |

I
love to play chess and backgammon as well as other games of strategy.
My Papa taught me both and says I should think about joining a chess
club now to get experience of other players. I can sometimes beat
my Papa at chess, but he is really good at backgammon, but I
will get him one day soon! In the summer and warmer weather
we spend lots of time playing chess and backgammon outside.

| My
very favorite hobby is art! I just love to paint and draw
and have won two local competitions with my paintings. I really like
to create things out of waste and abandoned objects. My mom gets angry
with me sometimes because of the mess she says I make. I don't think
he understands that the creative process shouldn't be disturbed, and
requires both time and space to make a good job! I think I would like
to do something creative or artistic for my career one day, but that’s
in the future. |
